✖ CHARACTER:
Name: Archer (real name is Gilgamesh)
Canon: Fate/Zero

Info links: http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Gilgamesh and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Fate/stay_night_characters. And for history of his origin, http://mcgoodwin.net/pages/otherbooks/gilgamesh.html
Canon Point: Act 13 (of the light novel) just shortly after he becomes Kirei’s Servant.
Gender & Sex: Male through and through
Age: It is never stated how old he is in canon but he is approximately in his mid-late twenties. His actually age is approximately 4000 years, give or take a few decades.
Birthdate/Sign: August 12th, Leo. Gilgamesh does not have a canon birthday but he has all of the common characteristics and similarities of a Leo. Leo’s tend to be boisterous, confident people who very much take the bull by the horns in any time of situation. As an additional aside, Leos tends to lack manners and are unrefined. All of these characteristics tend to describe Gilgamesh. Who is all of these and also happens to be very cold-hearted, smug, and calculating.
Tattoo: About the size of a water bottle on his lower abdomen, the top part reach up to his belly button and the lower portion reaching down towards his genitals.
Suitability: N/A
Power: So trying to put a cap on Gilgamesh or limit his abilities is rather challenging. Gilgamesh is one of, if not the strongest Servant in the Fate Franchise. In Fate (whether it be Fate/Zero or Fate/Stay Night), Servants have what's called a Noble Phantasm. This abillity, to put it in lamens terms, is basically their ultimate attack or ability. It essentially defines them and makes them unique. Noble Phantasms can be classified usually in one of two ways Anti-Army, Anti-Unit, or Anti-Fortress. These attacks however, come with a price. However, these Noble Phantasms are unique to the individual used to them and should be used at extreme discression. The reason behind this is because with using the Noble Phantasm, it open the enemy up to determine who the Servant is and thus can evaluate what said servants strengths and weaknesses are. Most of the time, when a Noble Phantasm is used it is only to be used if victory can be assured.
For Gilgamesh, his Noble Phantasm is Gates of Babylon. Where he can unlock his vault from during his lifetime, and access the ‘treasures’ within the vault. This manifests in the form of various physical phantasms of shapes ranging from spears, hammers, lancers, halberds, swords, etc.
For a further explanation of his Gate of Babylon and the weapons he can summon you can see it here: http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Gate_of_Babylon
With Gilgamesh, he would only be able to unclock the Gate partially. In other words he would only be able to unlock a few weapons at a time. I would like him to have Ea or Enkidu at some point. But I think this wouldn’t be available until later on, since it is such an overpowered Noble Phantasm.
Personality:
Gilgamesh, the second king of Uruk and the servant Archer, is what would you would call a very prideful, egotistical individual. To put it bluntly, Gilgamesh has a God complex, literally (i.e. he is two thirds god, one third human by lineage.) Gilgamesh is confident and arrogant to an impossible degree. He boasts, with pride who he is, and has no qualms with showing off himself and his treasures for all to see. In other words, the concept of modesty is a foreign one to the King of Heroes. That is why many consider him to be strange by how quickly he shows off his Noble Phantasm, which is supposed to be the key to his identity. He considers himself to be the greatest individual and king of all time. All others, whether they be king or pauper, are completely insignificant to him.
Gilgamesh is a very material person in the sense that he expects the best out of everything. He is often the epitome of wealth and prestige. His nickname is 'goldie' (translated from ‘kinpika’) both for his appearance and his natural air of wealth and being better then everyone because of it. While an exact amount is never stated, it is inferred that his sum of treasures far exceeds any other King in their lifetime. In this treasure trove he is said to have possess more wealth then anyone can imagine. In addition to having swords and various treasures of material wealth (albeit gold, jewels, etc.), he is said to have the best of everything whether it be such luxuries as fine wine or clothing. In Fate/Zero, he wears extravagant clothing and tastes the most exquisite wine. He wants nothing but the best out of everything (and everyone). When they do not meet his exceptionally high expectations they are deemed worthless or below him. On the other hand, anything that he values as a ‘treasure’ or an ‘object’ should not be spoiled or corrupted.
He also sees that everything, literally everything belongs to him, whether it be physical possessions or even people (i.e. people), there is not a thing that should not belong in his vault. He takes the same stance on the Holy Grail. Even though it was not around during his time, all possessions have originated from his vault, and thus it should belong to him and him alone. He muses that anyone who is worthy, he can deem of possessing or sharing the Grail with him, but that's about it
To be frank, he views all of the world and its inhabitants as something to be played with and taunted. It is a game to him and he is constantly seeking for something to spurr his interest and keep him engaged. He is constantly trying to find some sort of value and enjoyment out of the world. Even with his interactions with Kirei, he talks to him about how joy and pleasure is not a sin, but something to be embraced.
In a similar light, the King of Heroes has a very drab and dark sense of the world. Rather then seeing the world as a priceless gem, or what it is, Gilgamesh views the world and all of its inhabitants as an endless wasteland covered in filth. He is constantly looking for something to excite him in this world, since everything is completely and utterly beneath him. This also is why he constantly refers to everyone as as ‘mongrels’ or ‘low lifes’ (depending on the translation, the actual word in Japanese is ‘zashu’), indicating that they are not worthy of being on the same plane of existence as him. Sometimes he does look for things that surprise him or try to peek his interest, but in the end it is just the same boring drab things over and over again.
Gilgamesh is also one with an extreme dark side, as well. His stare is often bleeds both malice and avarice. Gilgamesh delights in violence and killing others, basically killing to him is just a game. He has no hesitation in ending a life if it is to seek his ultimate goal or benefit or if it is something that he considers worthy of killing. Gilgamesh enjoys the thrill of battle and fighting in his prime. But it goes just beyond wanting to kill things, all of his emotions are twisted and manipulated into something truly gruesome.
The King of Heroes is incapable of experiencing any positive emotion at all. He is twisted and corrupted to an impossible degree that no one can fathom and comprehend. Rather then having emotions of adoration or love or compassion, he is wrought with anger, envy, and hate. Instead of trying to understand someone and see why they are different from him, he just uses force to put them down. He cannot stand anyone that is on the same level or perhaps better then him, it is something that just can't exist in this world. Anyone that he would respect or admire is considered a threat needed to monopolized. Even the woman that he grows incredibly fond of, the Servant Saber is twisted by his discontent. Though, the emotions he holds for Saber are more borderline lust and possession. He views her as a conquest rather then an actual human being. As something that is both unattainable but yet truly desired.

[There’s a soft wrapping noise to be heard. I slight, slow tapping as if the speaker or person being recorded is waiting for something, anything to happen. Something that is worth engaging his interests. He is afterall the king of Uruk and the world itself so someone should come forward and provide him some sort of entertainment. But no, nothing. He guesses that he will just have to emerge from the shadows and ask the slaves and mongrels of this world for their service and obedience]
How monotonous this place is. To think that you 'worship' these gods and don't think to question their motives. Have you really so easily accepted your fate? [the tapping continues but the Golden Servant continues on]
So I say to you mongrels, what do you really do to please these worthless gods, these Twelve? We are supposed to offer up to them through service and 'worship'? It seems like there is something more to it, no? Perhaps they seek further pleasure, further retribution and sacrifice for such acts. [His eyes have a steely look as if he’s on to something, but he shrugs it off]
Though they might be just as plain and abhorrent as the rest. Afterall, gods can be taken down as easily as any mortal being could. [speaking from someone who has taken down the gods themselves, such a task does not seem that difficult]
As for my personal opinion, well, if these gods can seek proof to keep me engaged and satisfied then perhaps it is worth hearing them out. That is if they can continue to keep me engaged. [afterall, he’s never been opposed to having sex, in fact being rewarded for engaging in such primal activities is alright in his book.] Though as for the rest of you mongrels, I wonder who out of all of you could provide me with the most entertainment, hmm?
[he smirks, his lips twisting to one side] Let's see who is up for such a task.
"Zodionlogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:
Sleep was not a luxury that was afforded to Servants of the Holy Grail war, so when Archer awoke in the temple of the Gods, it took a moment for him to open his eyes. It had been so long, too long, since he had rested that he was not sure how to wake from it. He opened one eye and then the other, and breathed out normally as he did. It was slow, and steady getting used to this, but like a baby learning how to crawl or walk, he managed in mere moments. After he had finally understood the basics of such an easy task, he did eventually take the liberty of looking around his 'bed chamber'. But what he found was no 'bed chamber' but a sanctuary of worship of some kind. A temple, befitting of some time and place that was not of this realm, or the realm he should be in. Archer could tell it was something that was supposed to fit the inhabitant with awe, but only bored and disgusted him. It was a drab and cold place that had no form of grace or beauty. It was supposed to be welcoming and pious but to someone as great as himself, it was merely a hovel of a sanctuary.
Gilgamesh cast his eyes around the hall expecting his master to appear and offer some kind of an explanation. When he did not see him enter or appear he grew suspicious,
“Na Kirei, do you delight in making me wait? Tell me. What’s the point of this?” he quirked his head.
"I know you are new to such games, but you should know your place." He thought he had made his point clear to him. If Kirei ever sought to annoy him or prove to be bothersome, their agreement would be nullified. Just because he favored Kirei didn't mean he wouldn't hesitate to dispose of him should he prove fruitless.
But Gilgamesh was only greeted with silence and the echo of his own voice in the cold chamber. The golden servant's eyes narrowed. Something was clearly not right. If Kirei hadn't been the one to summon him here, then who was it?
He winced as a sudden pain bloomed in his lower abdomen. Not at the pain but more out of surprise since it was something he had never felt before. There was an eery glow as the markings etched itself on his skin. The design that was now being engraved on his skin was quite large. It started from just below his belly button and reached dangerously low, almost the point of his manhood. He was puzzled, not by the placement of the markings, However, curiousity soon transformed into digust when he realized what had been done to his flesh. The markings were detestable at best, and had no beauty or pride on them. The King of Heroes was not stupid or naive, he knew what these symbols meant. It was not just a mere tattoo on the flesh, but a brand sought to label him as something else, belittling his existence. Something so horrid was not worthy of being placed upon such a being’s skin.
Gilgamesh touched the design, expecting it to be hot to the touch but it was surprisingly cool. He rubbed his finger tips together, no his sense of touch had not been dulled. Was this some reverse branding of servants? Sure, most masters had gotten imprints on their hands but never on their bodies, and last time he checked he was not a master but a servant so what the point of this abuse on his body.
It was at this point that Archer noticed the letter on top of the ‘alter’ of sorts. He walked casually over to it and then read the contents. Disbelief at the contents of the letter soon morphed into anger, as he read it over and over. By the fourth time he had scanned the letter, Gilgamesh was on the verge of exploding with rage.
"How dare they?!" he seethed through grinded teeth.
To take a king as a prisoner and summon them into such a realm. It was unforgivable. But to scream out and curse the heavens would be something unbefitting of one of his standing. Showing such emotions would give the victory to these 'Gods'. The King of Heroes would not let these gods these ‘twelve’ have such a victory.
Archer laughed deep and low, he know he had been played. But the gods did not know, they were not aware of what he was capable of. Even if he was stripped of all his powers and wealth, he still rivaled all of them.
"Ah. You know not what you have done, twelve. You are clueless and ignorant fools." he still chuckled darkly, blonde hair covering his bangs until he reared his head back laughing again, his mouth quirked into a disgusting smile twisting his features to a gross mask. "Very well, I will play your little game. But you better make this worth it."
Gilgamesh was not surprised with the lack of response. In fact, he would be disappointed if they responded to his meager taunts. He wanted to see these gods and how they acted first hands. Perhaps they could make it enjoyable. But that did not mean that he would go along with their plans. No, he would not give into them and their plight. That was for certain. If they wanted to play this game, and use him as a pawn, he would play them as well. It would be a ruse, of course, but he had to play the part as they wanted. Then, when the time was right, and he got what he desired, that was when he would make them regret summoning him here.
But until this time, he would seek if there was some sort of value from this reckless wasteland. There must be some mongrels here that would amuse him in some fashion. Afterall, the interactions of meager mortals did give him the occasional thrill.
